How We Support The Trades

Across Canada and around the world, industries are facing a growing shortage of skilled tradespeople. Electricians, carpenters, welders, plumbers, heavy equipment operators, and other skilled workers are in high demand, but not enough new workers are entering the field to replace those retiring.

This shortage isn’t just an industry problem—it affects everyone. Construction delays mean higher costs and slower growth for communities, fewer qualified workers put more pressure on those still in the field, and young people miss out on rewarding, hands-on careers.

A big part of the issue starts in our schools. Many shop programs have been cut or underfunded, leaving students without the chance to explore the trades early on. Without access to tools, materials, and mentorship, fewer young people see the trades as an option.

At Flatblade Industries, we’re working to change that. By donating tools and materials to school shop classes, funding scholarships for trade school students, and raising awareness through our brand, we’re helping close the gap—one project, one classroom, and one student at a time.

Because building the future starts with supporting those who build it.
